Greeting, everyone, I am miss Yu, not miss you🤣 I have been a Mandarin teacher for more than 12 years. I graduated from National Taiwan University, Liberal art college, department of drama and Theatre and I am a certified high school teacher. I teach from kindergarten to adult, some are native speakers, and some are born and raised in English speaking country. It’s my pleasure to have several chances being an interpreter in some bilingual education conferences and workshops, I am also the host in Taichung, Taipei Murakami Haruki study group. In my Mandarin Class, I would create a vibe making students try hard to use and practice Mandarin as much as possible, from songs rhymes, stories that children would love to follow up, every day dialog and conversation, reading Chinese literature or handouts for school exams; I would plan my course and prepare materials according to the basic ability, learning purpose and topic that student interested in that fits every different case, build up a cozy and easy atmosphere for Mandarin learning. Among my teaching experience, despite of those standard Chinese literature classes, I also taught writing, calligraphy and art class, tutored and joint Mandarin drama performance and singing contest, we got great mark, we were even invited to perform around Taiwan; many students may have the thought that they cannot write the characters well or lack of words, even more, many students thought they don’t know how to write a short journal or essay, after having my class for a while, they generally give me the same feedback that my classes are so interesting and comprehensible that they build up the confidence in learning Mandarin. I believe everyone can use Mandarin fluently through proper guidance and encouragement.
