Hello! My name is Mia and I have been an English teacher for 23 years now. I started my teaching career teaching students 9-15 years old. Then I had more fun when I taught children 5-8 years old. I have taught adults, too. So I can work with students of different ages. Teaching English is a very rewarding and enjoyable task because it allows me to take my students to different places and explore new cultures while improving their language skills. On the other hand, learning English provides my students with numerous opportunities to meet new people and confidently communicate with them in English. It also opens a lot of doors to future employment. It has always been my main goal to create a conducive learning environment for my students. This makes them feel comfortable and eager to study with me. Students learn better when lessons are taught in an interesting manner. So I make learning fun and comprehensive with the help of visual materials, songs and games, which make them more active and responsive in class. These also help them retain more information. I am certain that with my experience, I will be able to help you reach your goal of becoming confident and fluent in speaking grammatically correct English. I teach phonics and basic grammar. I can also help budding writers improve their writing and explore different writing styles. Most of all, I can work with students towards improving their conversational skills. I work with different age groups. Therefore, I apply different techniques depending on what the situation or the age group demands. I enforce learning with a lot of games, visual aids, and other activities to accommodate each learner's need.
